In our survey of classic SD cards, the Transcend 2 Go 150x made a rather good impression earning a maximum grade of 5 stars. Here, we find the same card but in its 4 GB version. Before tests, we expected this to be a fast model at least equivalent to the Panasonic Class 6.
A very fast card in writing
In writing, the card is very fast and surpasses even the Panasonic model for the transfer of photos. We obtained a copying speed of 10.2 MB/s versus 9.6 MB/s for the competition. On the other hand, speeds were slightly less in reading at 15 MB/s in the same conditions and compared to the 16.7 MB/s obtained with the Panasonic. Copying 4 GB of photos took roughly 4mn30 for the first versus 4mn for the second. In the reflex test, performance is still up to expectations with a continues speed of 3 photos/second without slowing down. Moreover, this is the maximum possible with our test camera.

-
Overall performance especially in writing
-
Ideal for a reflex in burst mode
-
We can find slightly better in reading

Transcend offers a real alternative to the Panasonic card. Surely, it’s not as good in reading but neither is it as expensive.
