PNY offers two lines of SDHC cards, the standard and the Optima. The latter comprises this brand's faster cards. Logically this should mean a Class 6, however, the manufacturer announces higher transfer rates of 9 MB/s in writing and 10 MB/s in reading.
Underestimated speeds
It’s often rare to point out, but PNY underestimated its card’s performances, at least if we refer to the speed we measured with large files of 256 MB/s. Here, it obtained 10.33 MB/s in writing and 17.27 MB/s in reading which places it amongst the fastest. With our digital reflex (a Nikon D40x), however, the miracle stops and we obtain the standard eleven shots like with other cards.
Finally, one last detail…The card doesn’t come with any type of protective casing. This could be bothersome if you plan on using several cards at a time.

Doesn’t come with a protective casing

This SDHC card is currently one of the fastest. It’s too bad it comes “naked” without any protective casing.
