Hama Tech-Line 1 Go 150x
[ Régis Jehl | Test date: 2007-06-08 ] Send to a friend
This card can be subject to some controversy.  On its box we read, « SD Card 150x 22 MB/sec SD 1 GB », however, on the card we see, « SDHC 1 GB 150x ».  So is it SDHC or simply an SD?  The answer is quite simple:  SDHC card capacity starts at 2 GB and here it’s 1 GB.  After that, SDHCs are supposed to have a speed « Class » indicator while here there is an « x ».  Indeed, it is a normal SD card.  After discussing with our team, we however still decided to include it in our survey in order that it serve as a reference for normal SD cards.

Performances are excellent

This card’s performances are excellentes, even if they don’t surpass our current SDHC reference, the ATP ProMax.  We do however, attain 13.38 MB/s in writing for large files and 17.27 MB/s in their reading.  In the digital reflex test, the card has very good performance and over 30 shots the speed never changed.

Note that Hama also offers a 2 GB version of this card sometimes called SDHC still with 150x and even a 4 GB which is systematically labeled SDHC as well as 150x.  Old habits die hard.  The 150x should have disappeared with the new nomenclature and the Class should have been specified, which isn’t the case here.  Either way, we now know that the 1GB card has very impressive speeds in our tests.

The only non-SDHC card of this survey has the luxury of being the fastest. Note that the HDCP 2 and 4 GB versions proposed by Hama have the same speeds according to this manufacturer.
