The Skullcandy Icon-Recruit can fall into the ‘’designer’’ category.  In this case, we have semi-open, ultra light (45 g) and solid headphones that are essentially destined for those who like to work out and listen to their favorite tunes.

Ergonomics: We might think this model came out of a cereal box.  The plastic is of poor quality and doesn’t make the best impression.  Moreover, we quickly noticed the finish was rather light when we wanted to adjust the head size.  In terms of design, we would have to say it’s quite... particular; however, some will like it.  Other versions seem a little more attractive.  We were a bit hesitant to place them on our head, but the nice surprise was that they are rather comfortable.  You will quickly forget they are there (except for those who walk by and look at you strangely!).

Audio quality: Here like the TI (the other headphones from this brand tested), our bad impression was reinforced concerning the audio quality from this manufacturer.  Basses also lack precision and fullness although the sound profile proved to be more balanced.  Overall, audio quality lacks a bit of finesse; however, it’s better than the TI’s and the Icon-Recruit does not saturate at high volume.  In the end, for those whom it is destined, these headphones will easily make the grade in terms of quality.
