Know how to wear your earphones
In-ear headphones aren’t worn like simple headphones. With Shure, part of the user’s manual is devoted to the perfect insertion of each speaker into the ear. To do this, start by kneading each foamed end in order that it becomes compact. The aim is to insert them into the ears like earplugs. Determine the right from the left, and while keeping the foam compressed, run the cable behind the ear and let it fall towards the audio source. Insert the earphone in the ear and allow it take its original volume. Once in place, it should give an impression of sound isolation. A good test is to rub the index and thumb together next to the ear, something you should barely be heard if the earphone is well in place.
The SE210 actually does quite well in tests. Even if might naturally shy away from this entry level product from Shure, this model is a success with fine quality sound which largely surpasses the standard equipment of MP3 players. Apart from a few notable exceptions, most walkmen are actually sold with rather poor quality headphones. Even the best in this category are no match for the SE210.
To provide this impressive result, Shure improved its system of classic audio drivers. Earlier models were composed of a sort of vibrating membrane producing air pressure and therefore an audible frequency. The only problem is that the frequencies produced in this manner result in a sinusoidal wave where the tips are somewhat pointed and more triangular. To give frequencies a more rounded and harmonious form, Shure had the idea of moving the driver from the front to the back while it oscillates. Indeed, the result is very convincing.
