GPS + Pocket TV
The main benefit that the Spirit V735 TV has over the Spirit Flat, the Spirit 500 and other models is that it includes a built-in TV tuner offering Freeview channels and an EPG. It's a great bonus for people who are always on the move.
With a 7'' screen, you can really enjoy watching it the signals that you receive using the fold-out antenna. It works best when you're outside with good coverage. If signal is bad, or you're in your car (and parked up!) then a larger antenna can be attached to the inside of your windscreen. It really improves things.
The quality of television pictures is acceptable, and will no doubt prove invaluable for anybody who doesn't want to miss their favourite show while away from home.

Halfway between a portable video player and GPS, the Mio Moov Spirit V735TV certainly offers a lot of features. With its giant 7'' screen, it's a lot larger than the majority of navigation devices we test, but it has the same great features as the rest of the Spirit line. In fact, it has the same general specs as the Mio Moov Spirit 500.

Hardware: a huge screen with TV
The Mio Moov Spirit V735 TV has a similar design to the Spirit 500, with glossy black plastic around a matte screen and silvery plastic finish for the back. However, that's where the similarities end, as the V735 TV is a lot bigger than its predecessor. Fitting a 7'' screen means it is 64 mm wider and 20 mm taller, but just 2 mm thicker. Most of that extra thickness is taken up with a TV tuner and the storage for the collapsable antenna. There is just 1 GB of internal memory, which is apparently enough to hold the maps of 23 European countries that it includes. There's also a MicroSD card slot and a mini USB port for adding more maps. A headphone jack is also used to act as an antenna for TMC data, while a wall adaptor is provided to charge the battery.
The V735 TV doesn't have Bluetooth, so you can't use this model as an alternative handsfree kit for your mobile or look up information using Google. It can, however, handle photo, video and MP3 files, and uses an FM transmitter to play audio over your car ratio.
The suction cap is very solid, but pretty bulky too. You won't want to take it off your windscreen every single day.

Handling: easy, simple menus--but quite slow
There are no new features to report in terms of ease of use. The same clean, simple menus are there, along with the 'Slide Touch' scrolling system that we don't really like. We would have preferred some faster menus and a quicker way of typing details into the GPS. The menus on the V735 TV seemed slower to us than on either the Spirit 500 or the Spirit V505 TV. Perhaps it's because managing such a large screen is harder?Navigation: powerful, despite the lack of real-time information
Navigation is clear, accurate and efficient, with help from features like Text-to-Speech, TMC, lane management and virtual signs. It's a shame that there is no premium traffic info service, so you'll need to subscribe to that service for extra.Extra features: guides and points of interest
Like the Spirit 500, tourist information guides from Wcities are included as well as the ability to look for nearby points of interest.
-
Built-in TV
-
Great graphics on gorgeous 7'' screen
-
Innovative Slide Touch interface (but still room for improvement)
-
Easy to use
-
Very large
-
Slow in some areas
-
Slide Touch interface needs perfecting (we preferred to turn it off)
-
Text-to-speech a little artificial
-
No Bluetooth, so fewer features available

Both a portable television and a GPS, the Mio Moov V735V TV is an impressive hybrid. Its large 7'' screen makes it easy to use, but that makes it bulky and hard to carry with you everywhere. It's a shame there's no Bluetooth, which holds it back a little. That said, the TV works very well and is this GPS' main selling point.
