Here is finally a serious rival for the Samsung SyncMaster 226BW. In a number of areas, the w2207 even dominates. For example, the HP screen is vertically adjustable. The screen can be pivoted, practical for portrait mode, and it also facilitates access to cables and connections. On the left side, there is a USB hub (2 ports). There are also cable guides in the back of the display to avoid tangling. Finishing touches are excellent and its price inferior to that of the 226BW’s!
Good ergonomics, attractive, good ergonomics...
An advantage for some, not to the taste of others, HP has succumbed to the glossy trend. This is something we usually find on laptops. The advantage of this technology is that it’s extremely flattering to the eyes. Colors are lively and bright. It’s attractive, and a large number of users will fall for this type of rendering with unnatural colors. Not only do they lean toward rose, but also the glossy aspect makes them appear more saturated. This is excessive to the point that photos even look unnatural. Imagine a similar effect to the image quality of a movie versus a soap opera. To this you can add an even more disturbing problem, in our opinion, of a mirror effect. This is invisible on a white image, however, on black it’s very noticeable. For viewing movies or with dark areas in games your reflection always staring back at you can be annoying. The only solution will be to block out all light sources in the room.
If you have held up until now, then maybe you can think about buying this display. For text and web surfing – office type activities, the w2207 is perfect. And very attractive, which is a non-negligible point.
