French manufacturer Archos, whose Archos 5 we tested yesterday, has just announced a new version of their Internet Media Tablet--this time with 3G connectivity.
There's no word as to whether this particular model will be rolled out elsewhere in Europe or the US, but Archos is partnering with network operator SFR to launch its 3G services on its home turf.
We got our hands on one of the new 3D Archos 5s at a press conference this morning:
To accommodate 3G, changes have been made both inside and out: the amount of storage space has fallen to 30 GB, and SFR have splashed their name all over the case and the interface.
And whereas by default Archos send you to two different music download platforms, you're now chanelled directly to SFR's own music store.
Another facility that the mobile operator offers is watching TV over 3G-you can see the interface in this shot--but we weren't at all impressed by the quqlity of the streams we tried out ...

In France at least, this new 3G version looks like it's going to be pricey.
If you're already with SFR, then a monthly subscription will be 19.90 euros (25 USD / 16 GBP) per month; otherwise, it'll cost you 24.90 euros (31 USD / 20 GBP).
On top of that, you'll have to buy the device itself for 249 euros (310 USD / 200 GBP), or, get it unlocked with no subscription for 449 euros (565 USD / 360 GBP).
No news as yet on pricing and availablity in other markets ...
