This player, with 16 GB of memory, is a version of the Apple iPod 2G 32 GB that we tested.
Otherwise, its characteristics are entirely identical, and you can expect to find similar results with this product. Only battery life may vary slightly, but the differences aren't significant enough to affect our tests or the scores we give.
We've been able to confirm this both with our own tests and with assurances from manufacturers.

Pluses
-
Design and ease of use - new volume control buttons
-
Navigation, interface and a huge collection of apps
-
3.5'' screen
Minuses
-
Mediocre sound quality
-
Not enough file formats supported
-
Have to use iTunes
-
Too easy to mark/scratch the case
-
Headphones average at best

The iPod Touch can do a lot of things--too much, even. It neglects audio and video playback, though, which is after all the main job of a portable media player.
