Apple iPad 3 With Retina Display Coming March 2012?

According to an often well-informed Wall Street Journal tech blog, a third generation iPad could be presented at the beginning of March.

So the latest rumour about the iPad 3 comes from All Things Digital, a usually well-informed blog which claims to have heard from Apple insiders that the next version of the firm's bestselling tablet is due to be presented in the first week of March in San Francisco. The tablet would then, apparently, go on sale the following week. The timing seems pretty plausible too, as Apple could use the opportunity to update its iOS platform at the same time.

According to the same source, the iPad 3 will have a high-definition Retina display (2048 x 1536 pixels) and a faster dual-core processor.

However, none of this information has been confirmed by Apple.

In the last quarter of 2011, Apple sold 15.4 million iPad tablets, with sales reaching 55 million units since the product's launch.
