When we discovered that AOC had switched the panel inside its e2795Vh monitor, we were shocked.  But as promised, the company has now provided us with a new version of the 27'' monitor for us to test—and we're wondering if it will earn the same five-star rating as the original?

If you're not up to speed on this story, then you should know that AOC's manufacturing plant in Asia couldn't get hold of enough MVA displays.  So they decided to replace them with display panels that rely on the alternative TN technology—but without telling their European divisions, or changing the product reference, or the price for that matter.  Given the differences between the two technologies, we were disgusted that AOC could treat its customers so flippantly.

AOC France (which learnt about the problem at the same time as us when one of our forum users pointed it out) promised to send us one of the new e27965Vh monitors.  This version soon will be, or perhaps already is, the only one available in the shops.  The company kept its promise and the new e2795Vh 2.0 is in our labs ready for testing.  We'll fill you in on the results as soon as we can.
