The iPhone 4 antenna saga seems to have claimed its first victim over in Cupertino, as Mark Papermaster, senior vice-president of devices hardware engineering, has now left the firm. After being poached from IBM, Mark Papermaster had been in charge of the teams that designed Apple devices such as the iPod and the iPhone, including the iPhone 4. After barely two years in the company, it's unclear whether he was formally dismissed or whether he left of his own accord. Apple refused to comment on the matter, but was very quick to remove this former employee's details from the company website.
An Apple spokesman confirmed that Papermaster would be replaced by Bob Mansfield, the current senior vice-president of Macintosh hardware engineering.
