An IPS screen to break with old demons: energy consumption, contrast

Although TN panels have narrower viewing angles and less homogenous colours, IPS screens also come with their share of faults. Historically, this technology has a low contrast ratio and energy consumption that is often twice that of others.
We are currently in possession of a screen that runs in the face of this. The mystery screen has an average contrast ratio (all screens included) and above all lower power consumption than TN panels which don't have LED backlighting. This is a great leap forward for IPS technology and excellent news for those who deplore the faults of TN screens.

You'll have to be patient a bit longer to find out which monitor we're talking about but I'm sure there are more than a few of you who can already guess.
