Acer T231H: New 23-inch, 2 ms, Multitouch Monitor

The success of the iPhone has led to multitouch technology cropping up in all kinds of devices, notably computer monitors. Acer has now decided to replace its T230H (4 stars) multitouch display after less than a year on the market with a new touchy feely model, the T231H.
There are very few differences in the tech specs of the two models. The T231H is still a 23-inch monitor with a 2 ms TN panel, DVI and HDMI connections, as well as a pair of speakers. The VGA port has, however, been dropped.
The real change is in the monitor's design. The height-adjustable stand of the T230H has been ditched, and Acer has instead chosen a stand that looks worthy of a digital photo frame. We quite like the look of it, as it means the screen will be lower down and therefore easier to reach. It's a good start, but to really stop your arm getting tired—a problem often associated with this type of screen—there's still a long way to go. A good idea, for example, would be to make a touchscreen monitor that can be angled to 45° or even placed flat on a desk.
Maybe that'll be coming next year ...
