Acer Launches S273HL LED Monitor

Acer launched its S273HL monitor yesterday.  It's a 27'' which has LED backlighting to allow for a significant saving in energy consumption.


Both its name and design remind us of the S243HL, a 24'' monitor that we tested at the start of the year.  There are plenty of similarities in the specification, too: both monitors have a 2 ms TN panel with a 1920 x 1080 pixel display, along with a pair of HDMI inputs built into the stand.

We're hoping that's where the similarities end, though, because the S243HL suffered from reverse ghosting and couldn't reproduce colours accurately.  It would be astonishing if Acer made the same mistakes twice, especially given that they've had since January to work on these problems.
