600,000 iPhone 4 Pre-Orders in 24 Hours!

Apple has been swamped with no less than 600,000 iPhone 4 pre-orders in just 24 hours!In a statement released a couple of days ago, Apple announced an unprecedented level of pre-order sales for the iPhone 4, as no other Apple product, not even the iPad, was subject to such a speedy uptake.
Such a success, says Apple, has swamped their pre-ordering systems, leading to several malfunctions that have left many potential customers both disappointed and frustrated. Apple obviously apologised for the inconvenience caused.
However, it isn't clear whether this problem concerns US or worldwide pre-orders. We called up Apple to ask but we're still waiting for an answer ...
