The test

Maxon Cinema 4D R11 is 3D rendering software. It is available in a 32-bit and a 64-bit version. We use the 32-bit on the entry level PC and the 64-bit version on the high-end machine.

The test consists in rendering a 2560x1600 pixel motorbike in 3D with anti-aliasing fixed at x4.

Now for 3D rendering with Cinema 4D R11. Here are our readings on our entry level PC (32-bit version) and our high-end PC (64-bit version). As the results are given in seconds, low is best.

No great difference between the three systems, though XP is slightly faster. Vista is just one second down on Windows 7.

Things are pretty much the same with our high-end machine. The differences are even smaller, with Vista just a second down on the other two.
