Sony is preparing an augmented reality headset, as seen in a video recently released on YouTube by the company itself. We already got a taste of the HMZ-T1 3D viewer and its successor, the HMZ-T2, at IFA a few days ago in Berlin. Apparently, Sony doesn't intend to leave things there, as it has just presented what looks like an evolution of the HMZ-T2.
A camera located at the front of the headset allows this new model to film everything that happens in front of the user, effectively transforming the viewer's experience into augmented reality. Additional data can then be added to the image so that the wearer thinks the information is a part of their surrounding environment.

This is different from Google's Project Glass in that the user only sees their surrounding environment through the camera lens, as the image takes up the wearer's entire field of view, whereas Project Glass simply adds the extra data on top of the user's "natural" field of view.
