This Acer X243W is now available for just 249 EUR ( 350 USD / 200 GBP).
When we reviewed it last, its solid build quality and sharp colors were what impressed us most.
Technically speaking, this screen is not the most advanced model on the market. Its TN panel has a poor vertical viewing angle - so standing above it makes it very difficult to see the image - and a response time of 5 ms, which is fine for everyday use but probably won't suit professional gamers.
It's also lacking in DVI and HDMI outputs for digital video, with just a single VGA port.
But as we mentioned with the Hyundai N220W (currently the most affordable 22'' monitor), that's not really a major failing given that it doesn't affect the pictures you see on the screen.
If you know that the device you want to connect does have a VGA, then you'll have no problems with this incredibly affordable monitor.
