When you buy a Samsung TV, you might reasonably expect it to feature a PVA LCD panel, given that Samsung itself manufactures these components.  But that isn't necessarily the case.  Its C630 TV actually ships with either an in-house PVA display or an MVA panel from AU Optronics.  But are they both the same?

That's the question we set out to ask ourselves in this head-to-head comparison of two TVs.

On the left is the Samsung LE40C630 HD TV with a PVA LCD panel manufactured by Sony-Samsung and CCFL backlighting.

On the right is another version of the same TV: the Samsung LE40C630, this time with an MVA LCD panel manufactured by AU Optronics and CCFL backlighting.
